One change that never made sense to me: After Marty had such an influence on his parents in 1955, he comes back to 1985 where they still named their second son after him. Whoever Dave was named for must have been really great to still get top billing in the family.
Dougie, reading that thread from 2000, it seems pretty clear to me that you don’t even take the time to watch a movie before drawing conclusions about it. I don’t see how it’s useful to engage your uninformed opinions about them.
Right. His plan is not to molest her, but to attempt illicit activity, at which (he thinks) she’ll be so outraged, vigorously resist, and really appreciate George’s faux-rescue:
This thread brings up an issue in a different issue for me. Now in Saving Private Ryan, as I understand it, because I actually have not seen any of the parts related to WWII, Private Ryan is thwarted from killing Hitler by a velociraptor. Is my understanding correct?
What truly amazes me is that the original thread (from 2000!) had a lot of people trying to explain the issues with dougie’s preferred method of analyzing movies, and it’s apparent he learned absolutely nothing from it. Nine and eleven years later, he’s still going off half-cocked.
I miss the days when you could tell another poster to fuck off. Oftentimes, a more complicated and euphemistic version of the same sentiment lacks that curt, visceral, direct satisfaction.
Didn’t 1955 Lorraine think 1955 Marty’s name was Calvin (Klein) because that was stitched on his underwear? So if 1985 Marty was named after 1955 Marty he would’ve been named Calvin.
I sincerely think you should start a personal blog titled the above. I have no doubt it would quickly become an internet sensation. I would likely buy a T-shirt with one of your more astute quotes.
