I drove my Mama to visit relatives in Texas in the late 1970’s after Father died. They had radar traps that you could see for miles on that flat land. And they could see me for miles afterwards. They won, though, because I drove the speed limit when they could see me.
Is that Chinese restaurant near the freeway still in Conway?
We used to eat there on the way to see Mr. Riddle’s elephantsin Greenbriar.
So I got my Christmas early. I just stood there waiting while the clerk was marking them down. $15 to $70 saving depending on where I would have bought online and I got to walk out with it today. ← (important to me )
Not as good as the old one. This is a Moultrie A-5
Already hung it on the tree. Trying to get one night of pics before the rain starts.

Poor Zeus was with me all afternoon and only got to get out at Tractor supply and a bit of wandering outside. He behaves so well when staying & waiting in the car.
So I stopped at Larry & Karen’s bar ditch and let him sniff and mark & stomp through the mud for a while.
He also got to share some chicken tenders with me on the way to the ethanol free gas station… They were too salty and we both needed a drink when we got home.
Colleen rebuilt the sleeping quarters and Zeus was in his side by 18:30 and snoring. He is a pooped puppy. Bawahahaha
Well, the new Game Camera is a FAIL for me. My old one was 10X better. Taking it back today.
Not sure what to do now. Try to find an old model like I have or get a better, newer one at 3X the price.
If I had the critters coming like I did where I used to live on the mountain, I would spring for the better one but all I get here are 90% deer & the same deer at that. :smack:
I want to find the one of my black cat Demon laying watching a fox lazily chowing down in the day time and Demon was a scary short distance from the fox which knew he was there and did not care.
Had some great pictures of different kinds of animals all together at the 'Buffet." ( dog food, cat food, corn, dog bone cookies, sunflower seeds, hay, leftovers from our food & a bowl of water. )
Was like a desert water hole. Some pictures you can see one kind of animal waiting out in the dark for the group they did not want to eat with to get finished. Even the skunks shared. We had 5-6 distinctly marked skunks that came regular.
Only I would think pictures of Zeus eating dinner would be worth photographing… Bawahahahaha
Your profile doesn’t say where “here” is. I have five acres in the woods West of Little Rock, Arkansas, and have never seen or heard coyotes, although I think they are around. I have seen o’possums, raccoons, deer and armadillos, but no coyotes.
We hear them occasionally (rural western PA). I’ve never seen one in the woods, never seen one hit by a car either. Yet I see deer every time I’m walking in the woods.
I would be more surprised to see a coyote than a wolf in the N/E part of the country. Land type and natural style of hunting IMO. … BUT … coyotes are really spreading in the last 50 years or so IMO.
I personally have been seeing black bear in Eastern Okla, & Western AR, the hilly parts, since the mid 1950’s. I think they have always been here.
Since about 1975, I personally have seen 3 big cats, ( mountain lion size ) 2 in OKLA. in the 70’s and one in AR.
Skunks, raccoons, armadillos & possums acting weird during the day especially, scare me the most.
A few years ago I came home around 3 pm and a fox was sitting in our yard. I got my dogs into the house then approached the fox with a big shovel (I’ve killed many rabid raccoons with my shovel technique).
I was around ten yards from the fox and he stood up and began walking toward me, slowly and deliberately. I ran backwards to the house and got my shotgun. I circled to get the safest line of fire and shot it.
Tested positive for rabies by the local USDA office.
I’ve talked with others who have similarly noted that rabid coons get sloppy, jerky, out-of-it, while foxes just look intense.
My new to me CritterCam came today. As you can see, it was not ‘plug & play.’
It is on a tree waiting for critters. back in business.
Zeus guarding a dead squirrel he does not want but he is going to guard it from Blondie… Bawahahahah
