Critter Cams (for the voyeur in all of us)

So far, I have found two sites with live cameras on Peregrine Falcon nesting areas. Check them out!

Ft. Wayne, IN - Roosevelt and Freedom. Click on the side bar for live shots, past photos and sounds.

Rochester, NY - Cabot-Sirocco and Mariah. This is default to camera 2, but there are 3 other cameras, and sometimes the non-incubating parent is on the nest box. In addition, there are photos from previous years. Check the gallery for some really great still shots!

Right now, the live cameras are going to be a wee bit boring, watching a bird setting on some eggs; however, once the babies hatch, they grow pretty quickly and move about the boxes. Feeding time is a hoot.

If I can find other cams, I’ll post them here.

I love this sort of stuff. I often have the Rachel Carson Building Falcons up and running (streaming).

I love those Rochester shots. They’re at a baseball field?

One link that I got through a listserve is to a series of nesting bird cams. It’s a bit hit-and-miss, but hey screech-owl, there’s an Otus asio for you!

One of the sites that keeps getting an error in that links page are those from the Africam Site. An interesting site that shows other animals, usually around watering holes. I’d love to see other sites that folks have found.

Nope, they’re in a nest box attached to the base of the spire of the Kodak building in downtown Rochester. I haven’t been to Rochester in years, and can’t remember exactly where the field is in relation to the building (how many blocks away).

Thanks for the other links; I’ll check them out during the day. I’m still trying to find the vulturecam I stumbled across, but negelcted to write down the address.
