welp, the neuropathy in my hands has decreased enough that I feel up to some light short crochet sessions, I managed about 15 minutes and the beginnings of a juliette cap. When I feel up to an hour at a time, I am going to start on granny squares.
now if the neuropathy would just leave my feet … I would love to feel my feet again!
Good for you! As I’m sure you’re aware, crochet is less difficult to manipulate with larger-size hooks and yarn. Have you tried Tunisian crochet, as well? That makes a good solid fabric for blankets, garments, etc.
Right now I am just putzing around with the supplies I had on hand previously - crap acrylic yarn and medium hooks - looted from my mother’s stash. When I get more flexiblity then I am going to go get my own stuff ) Looking into the Tunisian crochet now =)
I just got a set of those addi hooks last year, as my hands were very sore from pregnancy-induced carpal-tunnel. They’re great! It takes a little while to work into a new rhythm using them, but I’m just as fast with them now.
A few years ago, my mom needed to have one of her hands bandaged up tight to the point of basically immobilizing it (I can’t remember what for). She made sure that she had a crochet hook in her hand before the bandage was put on.
It usually takes her about 40 minutes to make a hat.
