Crossgear backpacks?

After three years and change, my Adidas backpack is giving up the ghost. Checking the various online shopping sites here (Beijing) and in the malls, I’ve found some Victorinox/Swissgear/Wegner I like; however, they’re very pricey. One thing that’s a reasonable price–as in approximately half the cost of the aforementioned Swiss brands–is a brand called Crossgear. I’ve never heard of them, and doing a web search, all I get is links to purchase Crossgear products.

Anyone heard of it? Bought it? Can you tell me if it’s a decent brand?

Thanks in advance!

There are a handful of reviews on Amazon, they’re rated fairly well based on limited data. I suspect they’re generic products with generic quality.

Can you be a bit more specific about how you plan to use it? Real backpacking or carrying stuff around town?

Good question. I’ll be using it to carry stuff in town. On workdays, I will always have a laptop computer in it. If the COVID situation changes for the better by the wnd of thiscsemester, I will also use it as my carry-on for a flight to Korea and back.

Well, about three weeks ago, I got this cool item from a legitimate discount site here. Paid about US$10 less than the advertised page on the link I just gave. I’m very pleased with it so far.

As it turned out there was no rush in getting it because the COVID situation at the end of last semester was in the dumps: we had to do online classes again. I am quite looking forward to the trip to Korea this summer!
