Crossword clue that works for this forum

From yesterday’s Sunday Times puzzle:
**
Representations of a winged woman holding an atom.**

5 letters.

I worked out the answer so if you know it too, don’t disclose it. Instead, tell us why the people who chose it (winged woman, etc.), chose it.

They chose it to represent the arts and sciences.

I believe it’s meant to represent the fusion of art and technology, no?

The wings represent the muse of art (why wings on a muse, I have no idea. Weren’t they Greek chicks dancing nekkid in the woods?), and the atom, of course, science and technology.

The award, and word of course, being

the Emmys.

HTG, Abby_Emma_Sasha and WhyNot.

My problem solving the puzzle was with the clue for the fourth letter:

“___-haw!” with the first letter of this answer being the 4th letter of the other answer.

Naturally, I inked in “Hee” but it was wrong: E_MHS doesn’t spell anything, no matter what you put in the blank, so when I looked again, the answer became obvious.

Here’s how the answers and clues sorted out:

ENRAPT (Bewitched)
MII (Early millenium year)
MVP (Big shot after making a big shot, maybe)
YEE ("___-haw!")
SADCASES (Heartbreaking situations)
