Koalas aren’t an endangered species.
And in real life they’re not even THAT cute. It’s like, dog versus koala, I know what I’d choose.
Koalas are in serious decline suffering from the effects of habitat destruction, domestic dog attacks, bushfires and road accidents. The Australian Koala Foundation estimates that there are less than 100,000 koalas left in the wild.
I don’t think I mentioned the word ‘cute’. I would sooner have native fauna such as a koala than some cross bred mongrel.
The poor great white shark that the pup ate on the swim in, on the other hand, is endangered.

Uh, where’s the cite for it even eating koalas? It wasn’t in any of the articles. The only person I’ve seen to make that assertion was Cicero.
