Cryptic overlaps

Time for a bit of collaboration and/or a hint, I think; GEORGE matches the overlap and Eric Blair, but I don’t think it’s right as I can’t make it fit the rest of the clue.

Right with you DeadCat. Got the Orwell connection but nothing past that.

Eric Blair would have made a good Doper; that party was NOT ‘k with socking. (6)

Thanks, I ended up getting it when I woke up this morning without the additional clue.

INGSOC (anagram of socking minus the k - good one)

Artist made an abstract of nude matador. (6, 5)

Giving this one to @kaylasdad99 for pointing out I was missing an E. The answer is Edouard Manet.

And after I tried so hard to find an artist named EDMUND AORTA! So, I guess it’s up to me:

The fishing boat crew liked to get their twerk on if they had any energy left after this. (3, 4)

TWO KERN (That’s right, TWO KERN. I have no idea what it might mean but it is an anagram of TWERK TO).

I’ll take my reply off the air.

Thanks, that actually helped me figure it out! I think it’s NET WORK.

Study small goats? Just messing with you (8)

Umm, 8 or 7?

Definitely 8 - think more about the ‘study’ part.

ETA: having just looked it up, I see the solution I intended is apparently a Britishism, which I hadn’t realised - hopefully it’s still gettable though.

I thought it was KIDDING, and I’m not sure what the British version would be.

The clue for KIDDING ought (in my view) to contain some reference to the “ding” part, which mine doesn’t. Would it help if I changed it slightly to “Study of small goats”? That might give someone enough to propose the right answer, even if it’s a word they’re not familiar with.

That’d be KIDOLOGY, govna.
