Hubby and I went to see Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young (and Young!!!) last night in Hershey PA. After 40 years in music, they still play a 3 hour show. And it was good. And it was political. And it was not GWB-friendly. Unlike the first time I saw them (in 1989), I smelled absolutely no weed. And then there was the creepy scene of cellphone glow all over the stadium. No Bic lighters, just cellphones.
Cool.
I always thought they lost something when Neil left. Both CSN and Young did good without each other, don’t get me wrong. But the songs as CSN&Y were all just a little bit more … something …
Well, I’m jealous. I would love to see them sometime.
They weren’t as Young as they used to be?
I saw them a few years ago. Second row. Definitely one of the best shows I have ever seen. It was an indoor show and the only weed I smelled was coming from the band.
I saw them a number of years ago as the first half of a double-bill with Chicago. I was rather disappointed in them. They were rather lifeless; I never felt any energy coming from the stage. And the didn’t play Suite: Judy Blue Eyes, which I was really looking forward to hearing live.
Chicago, on the other hand, kicked ass.
Um, well, since I was actually at this concert with Suburban Plankton, I don’t really have much to add.
Did anyone else think that when the ‘CSN’ box set came out it should have been titled ‘CSN and sometimes Y’ ?
