For Model UN at school, I have narrowed down my country choices to two, Cuba and Vietnam. Which should I be?
What does one do in Model UN?
One models the UN, of course!
Either would be a fun choice. With Cuba you get to play around with post-Castro scenarios, and can yank the chain of the US delegate no end. Vietnam gives you some playing room in SE Asian politics and economy, along with some ally-making possibilities. Personally, I’d take Cuba.
Vietnam might be more interesting since they seem to be tilting towards capitalism more every day a la China.
Cuba would be hard to represent because a lot of the things they do really don’t make much sense. For example. apparenlty Fidel Castro has officially refused any aid from the US from the most recent hurrican that hit there. Who exactly is he punishing?
Not Fidel, his brother Raul. Fidel only writes editorials now.
And I would chose Cuba, but that’s only because I know nothing about Viet Nam.
If you want to take Cuba, you’ll have to pry it from my cold, dead hands.
Here, try on this wet suit…
Now that’s an awesome joke, but I wonder if it was intentional…
Just in case, Che’s hands were sent to Cuba back in the 70’s. The rest of his body more recently.
Vietnam has better food.
Like hell it does! Them’s fightin’ words!
[Seymour Skinner]Order, order! Do you kids wanna be like the real U.N., or do you just wanna squabble and waste time?
You don’t think Fidel still pulls the strings? Maybe I’m cynical, but I find it hard to believe he’s let Raul run things.
Vote for Cuba here!
Cuba libre!
Fidel is nothing but a shell right now. Raul has taken great care to replace each and every one of Fidel’s loyalists with his own. Believe me, Fidel is out.
