Cupcakes and Cookies and Chocolate--Oh, My!

I am on a major diet (actually, a major eat healthy for-goddam-ever plan), trying to drop 20 pounds. Yesterday we had a going-away party for a girl in our office who’s getting married (she is coming back, so what the hell was with a going-away party, anyway?). Today I am facing the following leftover landmines in the office:

  1. Cupcakes in the fridge. Big, vanilla cupcakes with mounds of yummy icing and sprinkles.

  2. Cookies on the filing cabinet. Soft, dinner-plate sized cookies. With sprinkles.

  3. Bowls of chcoloates on peoples’ desks. Hershey’s minatures, and Cadbury Easter eggs. Probably with sprinkles.

What have I had today? Lots of tea, a granola bar for b’fast and I’ll have an apple for lunch. No sprinkles.

Email them over here… I’m not starting my diet til Thursday :stuck_out_tongue:

Similar problem here today – one of my smart-aleck coworkers brought in Ann Sather cinnamon buns today. They’ve been sitting in the kitchen all morning, in all their sugar-frosted glory, silently mocking my resolve not to taste their sweet goodness. Smug little bastards.

Yikes, I just started a diet yesterday, so your post made me drool on myself. Here is what I do…picture great big globs of slimy hair on them…ack, that does it for me…Good luck avoiding the goodies, Margo

just imagine your sexy new ass and walk away.

I am the will power master

…(when I feel like it)…

…(as I consume a package of Hostess chocolate Donettes)…

I brought all my leftover chocolate eggs to my boss who has a bowl of candy on her desk at all times. I can resist cookies and cupcakes and all the sweets…it’s PASTA and BREAD that are my downfall. Lucky me, people don’t usually have these tasty items sitting on their desks.

Eve Deary, that is alot for one woman to resist! But I got confidence in you. Dropping a few lbs is tough no matter the temptations.
I can commiserate, as everyone else here on Sunday desserted on Cheesecake and Apple pie, I stood the good ground and finished off with homemade Granita (I splurged ans had a tsp of cool whip on it)

But when faced with those tempting goodies keep a few thing in mind.
Yoga. Say ohlmmmmmmmmmmmmm whenever ya pass that Cadbury’s that just begs to have the whites sucked out.
Prayer. Lord gimme strenght to pass by those cupcakes!
The Future. Think on how good you’ll look in those fishnets.
Your Courage. You can pass those goodies up and feel good about it.
And IF on the off chance you do breakdown and get comsumed by the sweetness, it just gives you something to do in the evening doing a few extra excersises.

Also it may help if you ask the folks in the office to put the goodies out of you line of sight. It may not keep them out of mind, but it will keep them out of arms length.

Oh, and eat more than just an apple for lunch. That just isn’t enough and with a groling tummy, those sugar ladden bombs are going to be ver very hard to resist.

Keep up the good job!!! You’re in my prayers toninght.

Agreed! A grilled chicken salad would be a good addition. Less food does not equal less weight if your body is starving.

And I’m trying to imagine Eve in fishnet stockings. It just really doesn’t go with the lorgnette.

Hey, this works for me! Every time I start imagining sexy asses, I wank away…

:smack:

You’re not kidding! I’m a sucker for sweets, but I adore pasta and bread. How dangerous would it be if someone had a really good loaf of Jewish rye or sourdough sitting on their desk? Especially with some nice honey butter…

I gotta close this post. It’s making me hungry all over again.
