So sad to see another season come and go so fast… any thoughts on the season/finale?
Personally, I liked the “Producer’s” season better, but loved some of the episodes this year, especially the “Ski Lift”.

I LOVED that show. It’s a pity that just like any good show it got cancelled.
On Australian public TV, anyway.
My friend can watch it on Foxtel. We can’t afford Foxtel and even if we could I’d refuse to get it on principle. And you know what? She DOESN’T WATCH IT.
Rawr.
I think Larry looks like John Howard.
I adore this show. Unfortunately, I cancelled my HBO due to the outrageous cost of cable in general. I’m going to have live on my memories.
Larry David is a genious. The formula worked on Seinfeld and it works equally well on Curb. I can’t wait for this season to come out on DVD. I think I missed the last 4 episodes.
And by “genious” I mean “genius.” D’oh! :smack:
I never catch it on Sunday, but I’ll see it this week.
I thought a couple of the early episodes were kind of weak this season, but there’s been some doozies lately. The one with the child molester and the aforementioned “Ski Lift” episode (alternatively, “Cell Phone” episode) were classics.
His “Orthodox Jew” was hilarious.
Personally, I liked this season quite a bit. Yeah, it was over the top at times but there were many memorable moments. The “kamikaze bingo” episode was one of my all-time favorites.
I really enjoyed the final episode as well. I won’t go into detail for those who haven’t seen it yet but I thought it wrapped up things quite nicely.
In the UK, it’s currently on a new digital station called More4. We’re in Season 4. I generally like it, but Larry is sometimes just too cringe-makingly stupid that I have to look away. It’s very believable - except I cannot imagine how a pillock like Larry David managed to marry the lovely Cheryl.
That poor woman. She’s perpetually wondering who in the hell she married! I love her!
Is Gina Gershon (Larry’s dry cleaner) in season 5?
You know, the americans remade The Office, when they really didnt need to. The have their very own David Brent… and his name is Larry David.
I loved when the guy mentioned his wife and then said (in Yiddish) “may she rest in peace” and Larry replied in his fake/nasal orthodox voice “Ah, I would LOVE to meet her”.

I thought this season was awful. Hiding items in a huge vagina? This is funny? This season was far below what David has accomplished in past seasons. The show deserves to be cancelled.
This was a weak season overall but I loved the last episode.
Did you see who played the two guides? Sasha Baron Cohen (Ali G) and Dustin Hoffman.
I thought this season felt forced. Not a complete waste (the last ep was great), but overall it seemed to be trying too hard.
I thought it was a good season - although I was expecting Larry to find out he was adopted and his real parents were someone infamous - Ethel & Julius Rosenberg, or he was a decendent of Adolf, or his father was the leader of the KKK or something that would turn his world upside down, but explain a lot.
I did like the last episode - although, this isn’t the final episode, it is? They called it a season finale, not a series finale.
Curb Your Enthusiasm is one of those rare shows that I absolutely hated when I first saw it, but eventually it grew on me and I now think it is one of the funniest shows on television. So if you only caught one or two episodes in the past and hated it, give it another shot.
They will be showing this entire season, all 10 episodes, back to back, on New Year’s Eve day. Maybe those of you without HBO can talk a friend into taping them all for you?
It was driving me nut trying to figure out who the other guide was.
Was it really Ali G?
I was thinking the same thing.
Please tell me the show isn’t cancelled…
You know I had the exact same experience w/the show. During the beginning of its first season, I did not really like the show. I even considered not watching it, but now I’m very glad I hung in there. I really enjoy the show now and look forward to it. I’m even sorry this season is over.
I agree this season’s standout show was “The Ski Lift” episode.
I enjoy the relationship Larry has w/Susie, Jeff’s wife. She can really intimitate Larry like no one else can. No one can us the “F word” better than her. She also has some wild funny clothing choices. I laughed hard at the way Larry handled her on his deathbed. I’ve known women in my life just like Susie!
FYI: Cheryl is is a native of my current hometown. They reference her parents (on the show) as from being from here and the David’s have had company visit them from Tally also.
But I’m sure that’s not as important a fact to you guys as it is to me.
I got a kick out of the character Sacha Baron Cohen played in Madagascar. When I saw the credits I was like “who’s Sacha Baron Cohen?”. I never heard of him and he’s up there with Chris Rock, Cedric the Entertainer, Jada Pinkett Smith, Ben Stiller. That was Saturday. On Sunday I watch Curb Your Enthusiasm and Sacha Baron Cohen is there again, as one of the guides up there with Dustin Hoffman. Again I’m like “jeez, who the hell is Sacha Baron Cohen?” Ali G helps a little. Maybe my wife is up on that. I guess I missed the Ali G thing.
