Curt Schilling revealed, without their permission, that Tim Wakefield and Wakefield’s wife both suffer from cancer. Schilling revealed that Wakefield has brain cancer, and his wife has pancreatic cancer. Both wished to keep that information private, but Schilling decided to disregard their wishes, because Jesus:
“This is not a message that Tim has asked anyone to share, and I don’t even know if he wants it shared,” he said, “but as a Christian, and as a man of faith, I have seen prayer work, so I am going to talk about it.”
“Tim’s wife Stacy, who is one of the nicest women you’ll ever meet, is very sick with pancreatic cancer,” he continued. “Recently, Tim was diagnosed with a very serious, a very aggressive form of brain cancer.”
I’ve seen prayer work too. I prayed that I could get out of my chair just now, and I did! Hallelujah! Next I’ll pray that I can go to the freezer and get a Klondike bar. The odds are looking good for that one too.
Schilling had long demonstrated to me that he is a damned fool and asshole, but this not only goes beyond the pale, but also is, as shown above, contradictory to his own Bible.
Also stole 10s of millions of dollars from taxpayers (I think Rhode Island?) for his failed video game company. And of course he’s one of those “small government” low-tax, welfare only for the rich, dudes.
And, sad to see this. I always loved watching Wakefield pitch. Knuckleballers that have a mid-70s fastball fascinate me. I love, love, love watching them befuddle batters.
Random aside: I once saw a video where Catherin made Jason go up to a guy wearing a Jason Veritek jersey and introduce himself. It was at a zoo or something. I liked her after that. I love her for her tweet
And, yeah, fuck Curt Schilling.
His business venture was some pie in the sky nonsense that basically defrauded Rhode Island out of $75 million; he’s supposedly had to repay a pittance in penalties.
And he’s an ignorant, bigoted piece of shit, to boot.
Andrew Wakefield is a mass murderer responsible for hundreds of thousands, if not millions of deaths. I won’t celebrate his death, but I will remember him as one of the most despicable people who lived in my time.
