Curtis Williams Dead at 24

Curtis Williams died today 2 days after his 24th birthday.

I was watching the game when he was injured and I knew it was bad.

But he eventually regained conciousness and it seemed even though he would not walk again that he was doing well.

He was here less than 2 weeks ago to watch the Huskies play a spring scrimmage and to register to finish his last 6 credits for his degree. He also threw out the ceremonial first pitch at a Mariner’s game while he was here. I thought that it was so great that less than a year after such a devastating injury that he was at least emotionally and mentally healing.

To me, he was a model of courage and perserverance.

Go with God Curtis.

How did he throw a pitch since he was paralyzed from the neck down? Did the Mariners set up some kind of catapult that he could trigger?

The ball was put in his lap and he was rolled from the pitchers mound to home plate. Sorry about the misunderstanding.
