Custom guitar paint job

I have owned a Fender Jazz bass guitar (made in Mexico) for five years. Recently I’ve been wondering about how much it would cost to get a custom paint job. Nothing elaborate or requiring detailed art - I would like it to be yellow with thick black stripes running legnthwise down the body (one of the black stripes would have to be painted onto the pickguard - which would also be yellow.)

I have created an image of what I want (bee bass).

If anyone here knows about custom guitar graphics, tell me how much you think this type of job might cost?

Eddie Van Halen always (early on, anyway) painted his own:

  1. Take off the hardware
  2. Spray paint the body black
  3. Put on masking tape where you want the stripes
  4. Spray paint yellow
  5. Remove tape

Kids don’t try this at home, Eddie is a professional!
