Customer Service Non-Horror Story

Just wanted to share with you this, though I imagine it will turn into “gah nasty phone peopleses” in a few minutes. :slight_smile:

Just to say first off, i’m horrible on the phone. I get embarrassed, and I talk quietly, and too fast, and I forget details. I am not the person you want to have phone you about a problem, just below someone who’ll swear and shout and be an ass. But today I had an annoying problem with my bank and an online shop, which was sorted out thanks to people putting up with me and still being very helpful and clear. Couldn’t really thank them all that well, so I thought i’ll stick something up here and say to any Dopers who answer customer service phones and are lovely people, thanks very much! :slight_smile:

On behalf of those of us that try our best and get tarred with the same brush as the “Can’t-be-assed” customer service people, I thank you.

If a customer says to me “I’ve had nothing but trouble with you and two of my friends said the same thing” I reply “I should introduce you to the hundreds of customers who think I’m great”
