I want to cut my hair, but have no idea what I want to do w/ it.
Here is me (I’m the girl). It’s the best pic I have right now, but it’s from this summer and my hair is a lot longer now.
Any advice? I wouldn’t mind cutting it short, I just want something fun.
Thanks!
(I’m really bored at work - a lot of people are out/late and I have nothing pressing to do)
Nada for me, either. I suspect you’re seeing the pics, bbrpiggie because they’re cached on your hard drive from an earlier visit. Just a hunch, though.
They’re longer than that, and swept to the side now. I’d like to go shorter than a bob, b/c my hair is really damaged, and there are a few inches that really need to go. Eventually, I want to grow it longer, but it’s so damaged it just looks crappy.
Thanks for the site!
Maybe a softer color? I recently had my black-dyed hair lightened and it’s a very different look for me, in a good way. My basic hairstyle is the same, once the cutting to remove the damage grew back out.
I’m afraid I don’t want to go quite that short, but you’re right, the options are limited w/ bangs.
It’s been almost that short before, and I just felt too naked. Remember, it is longer than the pic (for those of you who can see it), so I have more to work with than what’s shown. That was mostly for “shape of face” perspective
The best cut I’ve had was when I told the stylist to do anything he would like, providing it got rid of my rat’s nest of dyed-n-fried hair. It went short and I absolutely loved it.
My maternal grandmother studied and practiced cosmetology and the likes. She concurs that individuals get the best cut for them when they let a (good - I wouldn’t go the walmart route [ever again ]) hairstylist have total control. My sister’s favorite cuts come when she gives the stylist an idea of the length, but lets him or her take over from there.
I did this for the first time last year. I told the stylist to cut off between 10" and 15" and then do whatever she wanted. According to my coworkers, it was the best style I had. I had 5 people tell me I looked at least 20 pounds lighter
I will admit though that it did look damn good on me.
Way back when, I was convinced I wanted to dye my hair red. My hairstylist took one look at me, shook her head, and said, “Nope. Blond and red highlights.”
I argued, pleaded, protested–all in vain. Finally I got the highlights done…
…they looked fabulous. I haven’t gone without since.
Moral of the story: ask your hairstylist–they just might have a clue.
