Yeah. It’s mundane, it’s pointless, and I simply must share it.
I just got my hair cut earlier today. Usually, I hate the fact that I always have had and always will have short hair, and I hate it when my hairdresser even cuts it. My typical style is a dorky-looking bob. In college I had it cut close to the scalp and dyed a coppery-red. But since I realized that I really don’t have the face for that, I’ve struggled between the bob and trying to grow the damn strands out.
But my cut today. I really really like it! It’s short, but not too short. It comes to the top of my neck in the back, and looks kind of pixie-ish. Think T’Pol the Vulcan, but a bit longer. I’ve got bangs too, and I hate bangs in general, but I like these. It really actually makes my normally hostile face look friendlier.
I’m going to keep this style forever and ever.

I know how it is to hate you hair. I’m trying to grown mine out now and it’s frustrating. It’s shoulder lenght finally after being as short as yours sounds now. I really liked it short. I’m not sure why I’m growing it out. I will probably cut it all off again in a couple of years. I torture myself.
Sorry, not intending to steal your thunder, just wanted to share in the joy.
My friends and I were slightly tipsy tonight, so we decided it would be a good idea to cut our own hair. While this could have ended in disaster, the three of us who actually went through it came out lookin’ pretty hot, if I do say so myself. My exact instructions to my friend were, “I want a shaggy boy cut.” She delivered quite excellently, and I’m looking forward to playing around with it more tomorrow.
Anyway, thought I’d share. Glad to hear that your hair cutting experience went well! My suggestion - take a picture of your haircut right now, so next time you need a haircut you can show the stylist exactly what you want. That is, if you really do intend to have that cut “forever and ever.” 
Nothing better than a new, fab haircut. Make sure you take a pictures of it from a couple angles just in case your hair person forgets/moves/gets abducted by aliens.

I’m having my hair cut on Friday. I prefer my hair short, but at the moment it’s down to my breasts. So of to the hairdresser I go! I’m going to have it cut so it’s just touching my shoulders. My fiance will hate it, but tough.
Ah, it always feels tragic when someone with long hair cuts their hair, but maybe that’s just because my hair in particular doesn’t seem to grow very fast at all.

To follow-up on that thread, I have since re-found my lost stylist. A fancy corporate dinner party last weekend sent me scurrying over to her new place. “MAKE ME GORGEOUS!” I said. She didn’t even raise an eyebrow, and she gave me a perfect pixie cut. I told her I plan to grow it long again eventually, and she said the next time I go in she’ll start shaping my hair toward that goal. I also made her give me her home phone number, just in case she switches salons again. I vow never to lose her again!
