I have found an outlet that sells 128meg of pc133 sdram with SPD eeprom (I have never heard of SPD eeprom) 168 pin dimms for $35.
Sounds too good. Anybody ever experience any problems with cheap ram?

I checked the site where I usually buy memory, they sold 123 MB of pc133 sdram for $46. So more expensive than the price you found, but I’ve bought memory from them several times and never had a problem.
My opinion is that as long as they have a return policy you should be OK. If you install the RAM and it works then I don’t see why it wouldn’t last as long as more expensive RAM. After all there are no moving parts.
Over at Crucial you can get a stick of 128MB PC-133 RAM for $51.29 with free 2[sup]nd[/sup] day shipping (how much will you pay for shipping?).
Memory is unbeliveably cheap these days. Great time to stock up on some if you can.
That said I do NOT like no name RAM. The few extra bucks spent for Mushkin or Crucial RAM is worth it in my book. They tend to have fewer compatibility issues than no-name brands and tend to be more overclockable if you ever choose to go down that route.
Also, beware of mixing tin and gold leads in your system. Either is ok but don’t mix them. I’ve been told the metals have different electrical resistances which, when mismatched, wear out the memeory faster.
One last thing…this RAM (and I’d lay money the RAM you are looking at too) are CAS Latency 3. You will pay more for CL-2 RAM but if you want the best performance the CL-2 RAM is worth it (I’m looking for a benchmark I saw that illustrates this but no luck so far).
