I don’t normally watch Inside Edition on TV - but we have a satellite out where we live and we’ve been having reception problems. So tonight I got to watch a really cute story about a couple who decided to get married. The bride-to-be contributed a 100-year-old heirloom ring to be her wedding ring in the the marriage ceremony.
The problem: the couple to be married was living together, along with 2 dogs and a cat. The day before the ceremony, the groom-to-be left the ring on a desktop and went out to do errands, and when he came back, the ring was gone! He looked everywhere, but couldn’t find it. He suspected the cat had knocked the ring off the desk and one of their dogs had eaten it. He was right. He took the likely suspect to the vet, and the ring was visible on xray.
So, during the ceremony, when the rabbi asked for the ring, the groom produced the xray as evidence of the existence of the ring. The bride cracked up and held the xray up and explained what was going on to the wedding guests, who also had a good laugh. Then the ceremony went on. A day after the couple left for their honeymoon, the dog hacked up the ring, which (after a thorough cleaning) the couple was very happy and relieved to have back.
So what are your wedding stories that you managed to live through with the same kind of humor this couple did?
