cute men newscasters?

Last night I was watching “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart”. He was talking about the cute women who do the news vs the not cute men who do the news, think Walter Cronkite vs Connie Chung. There is this stereotype that anchormen are not cute, but that anchorwomen must be.

So does your area have any “eye candy” newsmen. We need pictures, so a web link of the dude is needed so that we, the reading audience, can judge for ourselves.

Are there any cute newsmen out there?

Personally, I think that Shepard Smith (Fox News Channel) is a cutie. Maybe it’s the southern accent as well…And the fact that he’s just a little sarcastic…Oh my…Getting warm here…Okay. So yeah.

is where you can see a pic.

Well, lots of folks say Ravi Baichwal (the guy on the left in this photo) is cute.

Does anybody remember Arthur Kent, the “Scud Stud” from the Gulf War? I almost fell on the floor laughing when he went on the Letterman show when the war was over. It turned out he was about 5 feet tall. Women seemed to lose interest after that.

Brian Williams yummy
Also John Stossel and Stone Phillips. Does Bill O’Reilly count as a newscaster?

Yowza. Gals and Guys outside the Chicago land area are missing out on quite a cutey:

I like when he doesn’t wear his glasses, but when he DOES he looks sort of like that straightlaced intellectual that you want to pin down and ravish.

He’s dreamy, and also a huge smart ass on the air, so that’s why I love him.

Ok we have a good start on the eye candy. But we need a couple of pictures, (Kittie & bibliophage hint hint). The guys look good, maybe we need to also include if they have a good figure or not.

Barbarian both of those guys are actually cuties. And I agree that Ravi is definitely easy on the eyes.

Cosmopolitan wow I just can’t seem to get into Shepard. It must be the picture, he has a smug look on his face. But with the accent sounds like he is a dream to listen to. But I did sorta like the looks of Hannity over at the side, but I have been known to have no taste in men. (I think John Candy was HOT!) But I notice the rest of the news team look like they are trying to keep with the stereotype of ugly, dependable men and cute women.

Jarbaby, looks like you are submitting the rugged outdoors type. But I can’t fault your taste. Does he look good in a tie though?

I was trying to think of any cuties in LA, and the crop is not good. The only guy I think is even halfway decent looking is Tony McEwing. The dude is solid, broad shouldered, and has a neat sense of humor, not silly, but willing to laugh at himself. Tony’s pic. Ya’ll judge for yourself.

I always had kind of a crush on Tom Brokaw. No, seriously.

Ruadh, Tom Brokaw was indeed hot in his prime—did you know he was a mountain-climber? Now, NBC has cloned him and created the delectible John Siegenthaler. Hubba-hubba!

Not easy for a straight guy to answer this one, but apparently Krishnan Guru-Murthy is a good example from the UK. This link has a sound file, and this one shows some of his collegues (male and female). There’s no doubt that female news anchors over here are often selected partially for looks, but journalistic credentials are generally rated higher for most channels.

everton, who’s the skinny blondy guy that turns up from time to time on the Sky Sports News? great cheekbones

Sorry ruadh, I only watch Sky for the footy itself, so I’m normally at the bar or arguing with my mates while the news is on, but I’ll post again if I find out. “Skinny blond bloke with good cheekbones” - check.

You have to click on Fox Faces, and then choose his name. Hubba hubba!!

We also have Tony Zarrella on NBC.

He’s just flat out adorable.

Ok, I have WAY too much time on my hands. Jon Kelley used to work on NBC in Chicago, and I think he’s a correspondant for msnbc now.

Monster I really have to agree with you on the nomination of Tony Zarrella. He is definitely worth watching the news for.

wowsa. grrrowl.

And you know what, deb? His eyes sparkle when he does his part. I’m not joking. He’s one cutie pie.

We have not one, but two stations that have cuties. The NBC affiliate is WFLA (www.wfla.com), and I think that they have cute guys, particularly in the weather department.

However, take a gander at some of the guys at our FOX channel, WTVT (www.wtvt.com). John and Mark Wilson are a father/son cutie pair. Some of you may have heard of John’s son and Mark’s brother, Patrick Wilson, who was nominated for a Tony for his performance in * The Full Monty * (www.thefullmonty.com).

Is it warm in here?
