Sticking to the OP’s definition of “cute,” here’s my list. ('Cause really, there are very few male cartoon characters I find boinkable … although my first ever crush was on “foxy” Robin Hood, as voiced by Brian Bedford in the Disney cartoon.)

• Santa’s Little Helper in The Simpsons. Also all of his puppies, those precious little Rory Calhouns. Bart and Lisa can be extremely cute too, mainly personality-wise.

• The White Seal (as a pup), from the Chuck Jones TV special of the same name.

• Max, from How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Dang, Jones really knew how to draw the cuties!

• And hello, people – where’s the Dumbo love?

• Roger Rabbit, from Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Particularly in the scene where he breaks down in tears in the movie theater. I love when Eddie apologizes to a tearful Roger for yanking his ears, and Roger looks up hopefully at him: “All the times you yanked my ears?” I. love. that.

• Bugs Bunny, when he’s wearing the baby bonnet after being delivered to the gorilla family.

• The Zoloft bouncy ball. Who doesn’t want it to find happiness in ladybugs once more? The way it keeps getting one neuroses after another – first it just had depression, then social anxiety disorder, and then panic attacks… gotta feel some sympathy for the poor little guy.

Do comic strips count? Because Snoopy is the cutest character of all time, IMHO.

From Tenchi Muyo, Mihoshi is a ditzy blode, nicely tanned, dumb as a rock, but cute as a button!

So Cisco, I hope the above post is proof enough for you that Matt and Trey did make it.
I heard they’re point was to make this cartoon somewhat famous via the apparent subject - Princess. They visualized all these little girls wearing Princess t-shirts and various other merchanise, without them ever knowing what the cartoon was actually about.
However, I heard this from a friend and have no link to prove it.

Yes, they did indeed talk about how funny it would be merchandising Princess, though they were mostly joking.

I don’t get why anyone who likes South Park wouldn’t like Princess. Take a sickeningly sweet cartoon and turn it into hardcore porn! What’s not to like!?! And it wasn’t that they they wanted to make it ‘famous’ as they felt the only reason to bother making an internet cartoon at all was because it could be the filthiest, sickest thing imaginable.

This is all covered in a short documentary called ‘Shocked’ which aired on Trio. According to their website it’ll be rerun September 5[sup]th[/sup] at 2:30am & 11:30pm EDT.
