When this adhesive was first used for surgery I found other uses for it in dentistry.
Amongst these was to replace sutures for gum surgery and the improved retention of pins placed for crown & other restorations.
My favourite story is of a patient who phoned about a loose post crown , but could not attend until the next day. He was advised to replace the crown with a small drop of Superglue & attend the next day for a permanent cementation. It was 2 years later that I was finally able to remove it as it was such a good fit and so firmly secured.

Welcome to the Straight Dope Message Boards, ALAN@BRIDGE, we’re glad to have you with us. And thanks for the interesting comment.

When you start a thread, it’s helpful to other readers if you provide a link to the Staff Report you’re discussing: saves search time, avoids duplication of thoughts, and keeps us all on the same page. In this case, I presume it’s Una’s report on Superglue

No biggie, you’ll know for next time, and, as I said, welcome aboard.
