Cybertrucks falling apart

Well, actually it’s just some stainless steel body panels that are falling off. While the truck is being driven at speed.

Evidently some trim and body panels are only glued on, and the glue has been failing , probably due to temperature cycling.

Please note that the guy who made this video says that he’s fan of the Cybertruck. He owns one, and doesn’t want to smear the brand. But he’s also fed up with people telling him that he’s just making a bad mistake when he tells them about their Cybertruck falling apart. Several stories on the topic are traceable back to this guy. But not all:

Disassembly On Glue Evaporation

Close the thread; @solost has won the internet with that one.

They’ve got a new model now.

Road & Track has reached out to Tesla for comment, but has not received a response as of this story’s Friday morning publication.

How disappointing to not get a poop emoji.

And a new logo:

That is absolutely brilliant

I concur!

TESLA shares are currently falling 8.5% today, as are the shares in temper tanTRUTH SOCIAL, curiously. That’s not you in this thread who did it, right?
Pity, I would like to congratulate someone and encourage them to keep it up.

I just read an article on Spiegel Online about car sales in the EU in 2024. Tesla sales plummeted by 50%, maybe those figures contributed to falling shares. Spiegel pointed out two reasons for these figures: dated Tesla models not longer competitive with new models by their competitors, and most importantly, customers refusing to do business with an outspoken fascist.

They still sell half of what they sold before the psycho turned openly full fascist? That’s not good, but can be improved.

I think (and hope) that every well meaning car buyer since refused to buy a Tesla, but I’m afraid that some people buy a Tesla in the first place now because he is a fascist.

*golf clap*

1930s fascists were very stylish. This current batch not so much but they certainly have an aesthetic, and a Cybertruck shedding body panels at highway speeds is a perfect metaphor.

“Move fast and break things”

I’ve seen a number of people say they hate Musk but they’d still buy one. Which sounds like “Well, obviously I’m against the fascism but I do admire his dedication to keeping accurate public transportation timetables” to me but people gonna rationalize when they want something.

Haha, yeah. Tech companies also love the term ‘disruption’. A quarter panel flying off a cybertruck at 70mph on the highway during rush hour will certainly cause plenty of that.

I was at a Tesla store last week for service related reasons, and all of the salespeople were with customers, and there were a few people waiting. In all maybe 10 non-employees, which I wouldn’t really describe as busy, but certainly at sales capacity for a 10am on a Thursday morning.

I did want to yell, “what are you doing?”, but considering the results of the election, I know what they’re doing. They either think the racism, etc. is a feature, and support it, or at best it’s a non-blocking position, which to me still makes those people racist.

That was my first real up close look at a Cybertruck. Being closer doesn’t help.

I really hope the stock slide is part of a major crash, because that is the only thing that will motivate the board and other major stock holders to try and push Musk out, and getting rid of him (the sooner the better) is the only thing that can redeem the company.

Musk owes me royalties. I came up with the design in fifth grade:
