At my last doctors visit it was discovered that I have some microscopic blood in my urine. I’m now scheduled for a cytoscopy with dye at the local hospital, but after reading various web articles on this procedure I find that it’s usually done without dye and only takes about 10 minutes. Out of curiosity I’m wondering why dye? I’m having the test done regardless so I’m not asking for any medical advice just general info.
The use of dye is quite helpful in assuring that the cystoscopy itself has not done any damage that needs to be repaired. It is being advocated by more and more urologic experts these days.
Hmmm, that’s very interesting. I’m now starting to see why they wanted to give me general anesthesia. I told them I didn’t want GA and to just sedate me. Maybe I’ll rethink that. Thanks Qadgop.
