D.C. Dopers: The overexposure of Chris Core

Do you listen to WTOP? Have you noticed that commentator Chris Core does about 2 minutes a day of editorials, and then does about an hour a day of ads for about a dozen different companies?

I think it’s nice that WTOP gives their voiceover guy a chance to do the occasional editorial.

What you don’t want some Anderson Windows? And who couldn’t use a plumber?

Oh and don’t forget that the federal taxes expire at the end of the year so hurry.

And they’re all his personal friends…

This is why I listen to WAMU instead. Trust me, you’ll be happier if you do as well. Even if Diane Rheme does sound like she’s about to drop at any moment.

Eh. Ditch them both. I generally listen these days to podcasts, Slacker, and the Sports Junkies.

I listen to WAMU for NPR (Diane Rehm sounds about 50 years older than she really is, which is about 74). I listen to WPFW for jazz. I listen to WTOP for traffic (their news isn’t that great). I listen to Big 100 when I feel like an old fart.

My dad loved Trumbull and Core on WMAL back in the day. Loved it. Didn’t even know Core was on TOP.
