DA-DA-DA-DA-DA-DA-DA-DA!! The John Jacob Jingleheimer Spitz Song

Yes, and I like that song too.

But I think it’s ‘John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt’, at least as I sing it.

It was also “Schmidt” where I went to camp, in central Maryland.

And you got one too many DA’s!! (da-DA-da-DA-da-DA-DA!!!)

No, eight DA’s is correct, for seven syllables in “John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt.”

I stand by seven DA’s, as sung by the Scouts of Circle B Scout Camp. I’m not sure what you mean by the relationship to the number of syllables in JJJS.

Eight syllables, eight DA’s.

John Ja cob Jin gle hei mer Schmidt
DA da da DA da DA da DA

You know, oddly, that’s my name too. It causes no end of humorous confusion when we go out.

do people shout at you?
[sub]and it’s seven "DA"s[/sub]

I am slowly going crazy
6 5 4 3 2 1 switch!

Another vote for Schmidt and seven Das.

John Jacob Jinglehimer Schmidt
His name is my name too
When ever we go out
You hear the people shout
There goes John Jacob Jinglehimer Schmidt
Da - da Da - da Da - da da

(Das have nothing to do with syllables)

Nitpick: It’s

Whenever we go out
The people always shout
Otherwise, you are correct.

You are very right Some Guy.

Can’t believe I messed that up!

No, it’s
“I don’t care if I go crazy
1 2 3 4 5 6 switch!
Crazy go I if care don’t I
6 5 4 3 2 1 switch!”

I misunderstood the DA’s. I thought they were simply representing the “John Jacob etc.” line. I see now that they fill in the “blank” line. I didn’t remember actually singing the DA’s, hence my confusion.
