When I got home today, my garbage had not yet been picked up - I suppose that could be a rant of its own. Along with our 2 wheeled garbage cans (usually there’s just one, but they didn’t pick our trash up last week, so we’ve got 2), there were three (3) Hefty[sup]TM[/sup] bags and a cardboard box. My first thought was that maybe the construction guys dumped them there, tho that seemed odd.
The box had a photo and label indicating it contained a dark green cast iron 3-piece bistro set - a lovely addition to any porch or patio. Interestingly, my neighbor has a brand new dark green cast iron 3-piece bistro set on her front porch.
Now, lest ye think I’m being a bitch about this, there’s easily 40’ between her driveway and mine, so it’s not like she just happened to stack her trash beside mine. There’s also the matter of the cost of garbage collection - we pay for 1-2 cans per week - that’s the service we signed up for. I don’t believe neighborliness extends to underwriting garbage pickup.
Granted, she’s a single mom, but if the $13/month is such a strain on her budget, than she probably shouldn’t be having a pool built in her back yard. I’m not even going to go into the two yappy, rodent-like canines that she lets run loose every evening or the devil-spawn of a son she has…
Anyway, the box and bags are now sitting at the end of her driveway - I thought that was subtle. And I shan’t broach the subject, hoping she’ll be properly embarrassed and contrite. But may I say here, from the depth of my being - BITE ME!!!
Thank you for your kind attention.
