My dad passed away early this morning at the age of 87. He grew up in North Carolina and lived most of his life in East Tennessee, but had no use for the NRA or Donald Trump. My mom was just in the hospital and is now in rehab, so I don’t know how long she’ll hang on. They were married for 68 years. My parents respected my path, welcomed my Jewish wife into the family, and were accepting/supporting when our daughter came out as a trans woman. He will be missed by many.
You have my condolences. It sounds like he was a wonderful person.
Very sorry to hear this, best wishes to you and your family.

I lost my dad 18 months ago, I keep wanting to pick up the phone and call him.
I wish you and you Mother peace during this time.
It sounds like the world lost in a small way what you lost in a big way.
My deepest condolences. May your grief be mercifully brief, but may your memories be sweet and everlasting.
I am sorry for your loss. You and your mother have my condolences.
I’m very sorry for your loss. Peace.
Wishing strength to you and your family. Your dad sounds like he was an uncommonly good guy.
I have to try saying this at least once . Yes, condolences for you definitely. But you have to carry on.
But as I brought up once before on these boards, quantum physics says for every reality, there is an almost infinite number of quantum realities. So really, your father is probably still alive in an infinite number of other realities. And he still loves you there too . Is that at all comforting?
My sincere condolences again, though .
I’m so sorry P-man. Please be gentle with yourself as you go through this time. He certainly sounds like a good man.
May he Rest In Peace and may his memory be a blessing to you.

@P-man, both my parents are still living, but speaking as someone who’s lost two very loving grandparents, I can imagine what you’re going through. May his memory be for blessing.
