I had a long post composed for a thread, and when I went to add it, the thread was gone. Disappeared, missing, lost in the aether.
I’m not that surprised, the OP took a stupid and jerkish position.
I suppose I could use what I wrote to start a new thread, but it would probably “attract the wrong sort of person”, and it definitely built on the missing thread.
This would be feeding a troll, yes. (I have no idea what thread you’re discussing but when a thread is wished to the cornfield it’s done for a reason.)
Most often, cornfielded threads are spam, not trolls. We get several spammers a day, but it’s not all that often that a troll comes along that’s that obvious that it gets nuked right away. It looks like we’ve had a couple of attempted socks and a couple of new trolls banned since the start of April, but 27 spammers in just the past two days (yesterday was apparently busier than usual for spam).
