Daily Show 8/24

In fact, that’s the kind of treatment Jon suggested he’d get.

Oh, okay, that’s fair then. The only thing he slams Bush for is every lie told by every right-winger, job loss statistics Stewart has pulled out of his ass, a war that Kerry voted to fund, and so on.

Mostly Cheney and others directly in the administration, or others directly in support of Bush with connections to the administration. Yes, I think you should hold Bush responsibile.

Cite? I’ll grant that he lets statments like this pass from his guests, but other than mocking Bush’s unfounded optimism, I can’t recall much on this front.

You’ve reversed your talking points here. Kerry authorized force, he infamously did not vote for the war’s funding afterwards. Actually, he did point out that he disagreed with authorizing force to begin with, but the real responsibility still lies with the president who brought us there. I agree.

I’d take your earlier bet, Lib. If Bush were to appear on the show (which I’d doubt, It’s still not big enough and he has better things to do), I think Stewart would treat him with kid gloves. I doubt they’d even talk about politics and chat about fishing or other such inanities.

Want the Kerry adulation (which only seems to exist when Kerry’s in the actual room with Stewart, but nevermind) to end? Vote for Kerry. Let Kerry do something newsworthy other than be a a robot desperately trying to look like a hip war hero, and the tone will change. The show only seems left-wing because the Bush administration;s abuses have gotten more and more severe.

And talk about fawning, did you see his interview with Burt Reynolds?

Never speak ill of The Bandit. For Cannonball Run alone, he deserves sainthood!
