Um, guys? I don’t post a lot (duh). But and hearty me too to Cartooniverse.
That’s why I’ve been reading this board off and on for a year. It’s such a diverse group who aren’t afraid to speak their minds. You see new posters being welcomed if they have something to add, and jerks are (fairly promptly and vigorously) shown the door.
Just my take, but I see “defending dalovindj’s hipness” (mostly thinking of Krispy Original’s post) as being entirely besides Fenris’ point. Go, be hip. It’s a fun part of your posting style. And you certainly don’t need my permission
But it’s not worth getting into flame wars over. It’s the kind of thing that should have gone into, “hey I was joking, it’s cool man…” pretty damn quick. We all have entirely different sets of criteria, and that’s cool.
I hate clubs. I find them boring, loud, and unpleasantly crowded. So I see your name, and don’t really get a “cool vibe”. I get a “whatever, not in my area of interest”.
And then IGNORE that part of your persona and pay attention to what you actually have to say on the topic. Which is usually pretty interesting
(trying to avoid the terming “fighting ignorance”, failing miserably)
Subjective opinions are great. Love to hear 'em. Can’t get enough of the circus peanuts debate.
But see, those are “things I like” posts. Disagreeing with people’s likes on the basis that it is not cool implies that, somewhere out there, accessible only to those as uniquely blessed, is the ultimate and supreme knowlege of cool. It’s like, the ultimate appeal to fuzzy outside authority.
