I don’t want to resurrect this dead thread from over a month ago, but I just got around to watching the season 2 finale tonight, and there’s one thing I’m unclear about that wasn’t covered in the other thread:
Why did Wes, Ellen’s “boyfriend,” get the hotel room next to the room in which Ellen conducted her meeting with Patty? When he first called the hotel and asked for the room (1910, right across from Ellen’s 1909), it appeared that he was scheming something; however, he didn’t do anything except unsuccessfully try to get Ellen’s attention as she was leaving the hotel, and it didn’t seem that he had gotten the room to protect her. If he was trying to protect her from something, wouldn’t he have rushed into the room after he heard the gunshots of Ellen shooting out the surveillance camera?
Should I just chalk his presence in the hotel up to something that will probably be covered in season three (if, of course, there’s a season three)?
