Damn Breast!

This thread has cracked me up to no end. My cohorts and I happen to be big fans of boobies in all their many shapes and forms. I’m sorry your clothes don’t fit, but hey, you’ve got breasts… that’s a good thing.

I’m 6’5" 215, and I can’t find pants that fit either. The thing that sucks is the Big and Tall store is just that, Big “AND” Tall. They just don’t make slacks that are 28X38. Oh well…

Just thought I’d share.

Just had to jump in with a “me-too”. I love my all-natural ones (so does SO cygnus), and I don’t want to change them, but it is embarassing to so frequently find yourself out in public with a shirt or dress that seemed fine when you tried it on, but is now gaping or popping open most inconveniently. Safety pins (the best attempted solution I know) usually just manage to divide it into two bursting gaps instead of one. The worst time so far was when it happened with a dress I wore for the first time to a sister’s wedding - just the kind of situation where you want to walk around all night (and have lots of formal pictures taken) with your dress hanging open.

BTW, that was a true observation about the Amazons supposedly cutting one off to acommodate their warrior bow and arrow gear. Yet another good argument for pacifism.

Sue D. brought up the very thing I was thinking as I read this thread. When I was…oh, heck I think probably a pre-teen, my mother used to make most of my clothes–cool now, but gross then–and when I did need something store-bought, we’d go to the big department store and shop. I remember the saleslady eyeing my developing form and telling me very gently that I would never wear Junior clothes. Ever. Too big boned, too busty, too hippy, whatever.

She directed my mom and I to the Womens department. And I thought I would die. Old lady clothes. But I learned to shop carefully–my mom is a superior shopper–and found (happily) that the clothes in the SAME sizes as Junior did fit better. Even more than that, I discovered that certain designers fit me better than others. Liz Claiborne’s stuff was always nice, for instance. Now, don’t tell me you can’t afford it–my mother never bought ANYTHING full price. 75% off of 75% was a common thing–waiting for big sales.

No. It’s not fair that we can’t walk into a store and find the stuff at decent prices that fits us. No. It’s not fair that the clothes that really make us look great is hard to find. But it’s out there (cue creepy music) and it’s just a matter of locating it. Pay attention to who makes the clothes that fit you–try on the more expensive stuff…just in case it goes on sale. Once you know who makes clothes that fit you–half the battle is over.

Good luck. Here’s to somebody finally making clothes for ‘real’ women.

Struuter’s post reminded me of something pretty funny that I wanted to share.

My poor sis, when she was “blossoming” had the misfortune of one of her breasts developing and the other not. For about a year and a half she had a rather large left breast (My sister is a big girl. 6’4" and extremely muscular) and no right one. She could never find clothing and finally just consented to wearing t-shirts and padding the right side of her bra.

Oh well. I thought this was hilarious and called her B.L.T. (Bigger left tit) for quite some time. In hindsight, that was rather mean of me, but it was all out of brotherly love.

That’s not mean. My brother would have called me ‘The Hermaphrodite.’ (Not the most sensitive guy.)

How funny!

Ladies, it sounds like there is BIG oppurtuniTiTy here. Find some investors and start a business. I know it’s WEIGHTY decision. You can keep us all aBREAST of the DEVELOPING situation. Seriously, there seems a niche that needs to be filled. I am surprised that clothing businesses do not to offer more choices in chest size.

PB you want us to flirt with you guys. After reading this I can barely type this short message. If I were to begin flirting I would never get any work done.

Besides, if I chose one, it would make the others feel left out (as evidenced by the poster who was flirting with only one of the ladies earlier) and if I were to flirt with them all then none would feel special, I would not be doing a quality job of flirting, I would get a terrible repution of being a supreme flirt, and you and GBS would be mad at me for flirting with other posters.

So, I shall not flirt with anyone (at least not in this thread).

However, let me just say that you women are just too much.

I have the same problems when it come to clothes shopping. I hardly ever buy button front shirts. Usually T-shirts or knit material. The absolute worst look, I think is gaping buttons. If I have to buy a button front, I buy it big enough to cover well and not gape, and if it is tailored the back darts can be adjusted. I have also sewn the shirt closed in the front under the 2 or 3 middle buttons, the ones that are the worst offenders. Put the stitches underneath the placket. It will be nearly invisible. You will just have to pull the shirt on & off over your head. Ah the burden of big busoms.

Though it can be a good think. It’s the reason why I can pull of dressing up as this person for the Anime Con tomorrow
