Damn fall TV changes - light rant

Since I work a great deal of my time from home I always have the TV on mostly for background noise. I am not the type that like to listen to crappy TV though and I don’t have cable so this fall here’s what’s happened to my daytime TV.

Mornings – Okay I liked Florence Henderson and friends for Later Today, it’s cancelled now. They are temporarily showing an MSNBC show called “Home Page” that is very boring. Regis is on at the same time but fell out of watching it when Later Today came on.

Well, Leeza was cancelled. Yes her show was kind of depressing but it was good enough for background. On our NBC station they put Dr. Laura on < gagging > so since they cancelled Leeza, I now end up watching reruns of Family Matters. Okay I admit it, I like Urkel and I did watch this show.

My afternoons have stayed somewhat normal except for the 4:00 hour. They cancelled Ainsley Harriot at 3:00, a funny black brit that showed us some awesome cooking. I liked him. Since they cancelled that they bumped up Montel to 3:00 and started reruns of Star Trek – The Next Generation. Since I wont watch Rosie O’Donnell anymore, this is the best solution.

So, as mundane and pointless that is, I hate it when the new fall season comes on for daytime TV.

I’m so relieved that I’m not the only one who does this. People who come to my house while I’m on the computer always ask me why my TV is on.

Over here they pushed Maury back an hour to make room for Dr. Laura’s nonsense. I watched the show on Monday. ::yawn:: I hope it doesn’t last long.

Here is an alternative - talk radio. It usually has more interesting stuff on than daytime TV.
