Damn speeding ticket.

No, this was in several different states across the USA, including Indiana, Ohio, and Vermont. Now, granted, you may consider those states to be “La La Land” (and I would probably agree with you) but my results have been consistant. As soon as I can afford to tempt fate, I’ll try it out here in El Paso, TX. (I hear that speeding fines here are quite high.)

I would be intereseted to see how well it works in larger cities with populations in the multi-millions. Has anyone else tried this?
I find it difficult to believe that I’m the only one…

I’ve only ever been pulled over once and got a ticket for it, despite honesty.

I was doing about 80 in a 55 (I thought it was 65), coming down off the Grapevine towards LA.

He pulled me over, asked “I clocked you at about 73, do you think that’s accurate.”

Me “Yes, I believe so.”

Two minutes later I was out of there with a $150 ticket and a “why were you driving so fast comment” from the same wife who usually asks “why are you letting people pass us.”

I once got a speeding ticket in Holland, I got pegged by photo radar. I was doing 105Km/hr in a 100Km/hr zone. I received the notice here in the states asking for payment. I sent them a letter saying something to the effect that 5Km/hr over the limit was probably within the error range of the speed sampling device. I received a notice back saying that they just collect the money and I would have to show up in court to make my case. Since I wasn’t going back to Holland anytime soon, I said “yeah, right!”, especially since they didn’t have my full name. The funny thing is that on the notice they send you, they tell you to make sure you put your social security number on the notice when you reply. Right, sure I will!

Given the intellectual rigour of the points put forward in your post, I figure the best thing for you to do is to either trade your car in for a moped or simply give up driving all together and instead use public transit. Stupid people should not drive. Yes, IAAL.
