Went with Ms. Attack and the Attackkids to:
-The bakery
-The coffeeshop (chess and americanos)
-The dog food/dog goggle store (to ask about pet stores)
-The University (dry run for Ms. Attack’s classes)
-The Cheesy Tourist Store (kids’ idea)
-The library
-The library store
-The vegan restaurant (lunch. Actually, pretty good)
-The jade store (B-day present for friend in France)
-The spy store (for Attacklad - he wants to be a spy - he’s eight)
-Another coffeeshop (it’s Vancouver, I think it’s required)
-A gun shop (exploring our ethnic heritage)
-The skatepark (where Attacklad and I injured ourselves within minutes of one another)
-The pool across the street
Then I went for pizza and wine, stopping off at the comic shop and the games shop.
-didn’t have to meet any clients
-didn’t shave
-figured out a bunch of crap in some new software I’m implementing
-did some quotes and projects in the above mentioned new software
-had some beer, wings, and entertaining conversation this evening. link
There is a store that sells pet supplies. It’s a really big store, with lots of stuff, but no pets. My kids want a dog, or a cat, or any other animal at all, really, but this isn’t an option now, so they want to window shop. Ms. Attack and Attacklass negotiated a deal where we would go to the pet supply store by (of course) the coffeeshop, and ask which, if any, pet stores were reputable and clean, and follow their advice if we thought it was reasonable. They came down firmly in favour of the SPCA, so that’s in the cards for next time.
The curious thing is, this store sells goggles for dogs. The idea is that the dog would wear the goggles if the dog were on a motorcycle, or maybe playing Snoopy v. the Red Baron, or maybe just to make the owner look cooler (perhaps by making the dog look like an idjit). Anyway, they have a whole collage of photos of dogs-in-goggles in the shop window, making them the dog goggle store.
I realize now that I left out the two chocolate shops into which we wandered, but bought nothing, due to food allergy issues. Most of the other stops were 15 minutes or less, excepting the skatepark, lunch and and pizza shop.
