Damn the Man, the Game goes on. SDMB 4th quarter HOT poker action

I was watching the last 10 minutes of the Kyy v. Ast battle on Gaming Club. I believe I could have signed up for the game had I gotten there on time. My AIM is crashing though, so I tried to say hi on the TGC chat…did anyone see it?

…and who killed who last night?

Tonight was the WSOP Tournament of Champions. I don’t know if this was the first airing or a repeat. But I have a question:

How the hell does Negreanu figure out other people’s cards? He made at least 2 amazing reads. Has he written about this anywhere?

By all means watch this as it reruns…

I’m out for this week. I’ll get a chance to play live at an Arizona casino at least.

Game’s up.

I tried for a while to get the spreadsheet to work, but there’s some problem with the formula. I thought it was because I have OpenOffice instead of Excel, but I tried it at work and still no luck. If anyone else wants to play with it I can send the file.

1 - Kyy (2 in a row!)
2 - Missy
3 - Oslo
4 - Duck
5 - YetiBot
6 - Root
7 - Ast
8 - Nook

I continue to be unable to crack the secrets of the spreadsheet. Somebody smart want to post the standings?

I’ll take a crack at it.

Yay! Results for the quarter:

1 Dag Otto 82.0
2 Kyyrewyyoae 73.6
3 Duke of Rat 63.4
4 Asterion 57.8
5 Miss Take 56.1
6 Robot Arm 56.1
7 Oslo Ostragoth 45.8
8 Nanook of the North 42.7
9 Capa 34.6

for the DNQ’s:
OMD(2 games) 59.5
Yeti (1 game) 44.4
Nesta (1 game) 36.4
Oak (2 games) 21.1

And for anyone who didn’t know it, Kyy is a riverrin’ mf’er:

Preflop I was 86% to win.
At the turn I was 80% to win.
At the river I was 80%.

Mf’er.

Oh well. At least I finished in the money in this quarter.

I had every intention of playing last Thursday, but as usual…stuff got in the way and my computer and cable connection at home conspired together to make it one big POS.

I did sign up on The Gaming Club though and I have never been on Crazy Poker, but I believe I still could play in the SDMB game since it’s still listed on TGC. So tell me again…why did you guys switch over to Crazy Poker?

Some, not all, of us got kicked off of GC. Maybe a state-by-state thing. Clearly an interference with interstate commerce. But apparently any Microgaming skin can access the game. I’m still plodding through the sites to see if any particular one distinguishes itself.

I cashed out sometime around Nov. 3, as I did quite well playing blackjack and never got any bonus money from the site. The withdrawl hit my NETeller account on Nov. 6 and I put in the EFT request on Nov. 9 (which finally cleared completely today.) I got an email today that said, among other things: “It’s been between 1-3 hours since you requested your withdrawals…For security reasons we need the following additional information from
you…1) A copy of your most recent utility bill. 2) A copy of the front and backsides of the credit card(s) used for the deposit(s). 3) The details section(s) of an identification document(s) or valid passport(s)…Please note that our Withdrawals manager may also send you a “Deposit Authorization Document”, for you to sign for all deposits, confirming all your purchases, for both your security and ours. This authorization document may be sent to you via email or fax.”

None of this makes any sense and I’m afraid to email them back asking what the hell they’re talking about, especially since the money is already back in my bank account.

I don’t think I ever got the official boot, I still get emails from them wanting me to play in freerolls and stuff. I did a transfer to Dag Otto and he cashed me out, Neteller said there was a problem with my account and they needed my Social Security Number. Right, here’s my bank account number, a credit card number, and my SSN.

ast and Duke: That stuff smells to high heaven. Did you report it to Neteller through the site (not via email)?

I see I wasn’t clear with what I meant. I meant I got that email from Crazy Poker. Still, though, I don’t like it. Is there a good way to check the headers in Yahoo Mail?

BTW:

Whee!

I probably won’t be in tomorrow night. I just got my new laptop and went to update the firmware in my modem to get it to do a better job of being wireless. (It was a wireless router but it had lousy encryption.) Anyway, the firmware update crashed and hosed the modem, so I won’t get a new one until sometime next week. And I have to call Qwest again as while I was on the line ordering the new modem I got hung up on. I could play from school, I guess, but I’d prefer not to, even if I get Parallels to work. This isn’t a secure environment as far as I know. I’ll either see you guys on Thanksgiving or the week after that.

Don’t think I understood a word of that, but, we’ll miss you (and your notorious bad luck of running into better hands when you finally catch a playable one).

And the game is up, courtesy of Dag.
