Why in the hell did the EOs of 3Dfx run it into the ground??? You bastards had some of the most kick-ass video boards for a PC, went public, did some of the most amazingly bad business moves ever and lost your shirt. I hope the executives get put in jail for being such idiots. I bet I will be getting lots of driver updated for my V5500AGP now, won’t I?? You dickheads!

I have a GF2 as well in my other machine. I really prefer my V5 over it. Not as fast in some games, but it kicks in sims and the image quality is amazing. Don’t knock it, brother, it is a kick ass card. It just looks like it is dying before its time.
Nvidia bought out their graphics technology, name, etc. They are not supporting owners of 3Dfx equipment at all. Operations at 3Dfx are to cease within a month or two.
3dFx is DEAD. LONG LIVE THE KING. NVidia has made 3dFx look really bad recently, much like AMD has done to Intel. Bad business moves or not, without competition of NVidia’s caliber, 3dFx would still be alive and kicking, because they would be the only thing available. It’s the reason that Microsoft is so quick to extinguish any possible source of competition. Without any frame of reference, shit looks like gold.
