Answering the OP:
Threads started by dopers I’ve grown to respect, or dopers I think are really stupid.
Threads about any sport at all. Especially the ones I know about.
Threads about Christianity, abortion, depression, alcoholism, abuse, molestation and other health-related things.
Threads where it’s really easy to appear really intelligent.
Threads where I can list things like they matter to anyone, while in reality I’m thinking about lunch.
You showed up in my “lesbian strip show” thread. I hesitate to ask which category that puts me in! 
I gotta admit locked threads suck me in too, especially if the title seems relatively innocuous.
I’d like to say sex threads, but since I post mostly from work I kinda steer clear, just to be on the safe side.
Overall, though, I don’t think any one topic pulls me in on a regular basis. I just go with what looks like an interesting title.
No real pattern - I’m probably not enough of a “regular” here anyhow. I tend to gravitate towards race/gay/mental health/philosophical issue threads, I guess. And travel-related threads, because I travel alot. Oh, and sex threads to, because I do that alot too. 
Oh, and pet threads.
Ones I don’t bother with: TV/movie threads (Am I the only one here without a television?), “Look at my post-count” threads, any that look like they contain mathematical content.
We try not to show it too much. <blush>

Homophobia threads, threads wherein I can flirt with Esprix, threads in which my honour is impugned.
Queer-related threads, anything in the title that relates to my life (like a movie I love or something I’m going through), sci-fi threads, and anywhere where I can get matt_mcl to flirt with me. 
I avoid CvE, Christianity doctrine and really pointless and mundane threads.
