You’re right. Sorry.

It’s tough being the middle child…not enough time on the board to be in the Cabal, but too many posts to be a hyperenthusiastic newbie.

I’ll behave.

A minute? You get sniped by an entire minute and you’re pissed?

Heathen has nailed the sucker in the last 6 friggin’ SECONDS

p.s. - what else are you bidding on?

You posted a bid three days before the auction ended?

It’s people like you that drive up the prices on stuff for us snipers, you know.

Three days. Sheesh.

Seriously. Sniping is the only way to get stuff on eBay. The only time I bid outside of the last 20 seconds is when I’m out of town.

Three days. You’re kidding, right?

You want “Leetspeak”?

I have dial-up! The pecker-head slipped in while I was refreshing on my super-slow connection. I was bidding on this. I’ve been trying to find one for about 4 years now. The search continues.

If only the seller had used “Buy This Now” option, I’d have it now!

Was this your first attempt at winning an Ebay auction? I lost on my first attempt too…never after though  . I love sniping because I can bid without the emotional component that causes people to bid an item up like crazy and then regret later on for paying too much.

But, if I was going to bid on something 3 days out, and I had been looking for and desiring that item for 4 years; I’d pull out all the stops and put a proxy in so high that all the snipers in hell couldn’t hit their mark. But that’s just me, YMMV.

I got screwed on my first auction, too. Plus I was a nervous wreck, all spazzin’ out and screamin’ at my computer and shit. There’s that auto-bid thing that automatically ups it by $2.00 or something, up to a certain limit, isn’t there? We don’t do a lot of e-bay, but we like it a lot!

It was my first auction in about 2 years. I don’t remember the snipers from then.

Mmm…sniping. It’s the only way to bid. I always laugh when I’m sniped out, or even better, sniped and I win anyway (even though I end up paying more).

I do a lot of buying on E-BAY and I do not snipe, I figure out what the item is worth to me, subtract the shipping and I bid that amount (and no more), that process saves me from getting “auction fever” and over bidding and if I “lose” an auction I know at least that the other guy overpaid (I know my markets very well, thank you), I have placed bids a WEEK before the auction ended and won, now sometimes I run across things that I “must” have and if/when I have lost them it was because someone wanted that item more than me, and yes I DO make money on (some) of my EBAY deals.
