Has anyone got any suggestions how I can get rid of a plague of tiny honey ants constantly invading my kitchen… Any tiny crumb of food attracts these annoying little critters by the hundreds!

As i cruise the Straight Dope i’m listening to my “Adam and the Ants” cd. Too funny, just too funny.
There’s a whole lot of information about ants and how to deal with different types of them at the Ask The Bugman site. “The Bugman” is Richard Fagerlund, a specialist in integrated pest management who has some very good suggestions about how to manage pests without poisoning everything in your house.
For most ants, he suggests starting by spraying them daily with soapy water (one capful of liquid soap in a spray bottle). If they don’t disappear after a week or so, he has some suggestions for different types of baits and ways to deal with any nests you find outdoors.
It is a safe way to kill ants.
