Dance Dance Revolution

Anyone ever try this game out before? It’s sort of addicting. For anyone who hasn’t seen it before, it resembles Simon Says except you are stepping on arrows.

I have a couple personal faves:

  • Wonderland
  • La Señorita
  • Boom Boom Dollar
  • Gentle Stress
  • Vol. 4

Ones I don’t particularly like:

  • Cutie Chaser
  • Love this Feelin

Wanna hear something sad? I downloaded Boom Boom Dollar and the Butterfly song and put them on a mix CD I made.

That game rocks, though I refused to play it in the arcade since I’d feel like a moron. I was watching these asian girls playing it, and was mesmerized by them. I want to get the playstation version (was released yesterday) as soon as the dance pad is available (don’t know what’s going on with that).

Yeah, I know what you mean c_goat. I feel kinda goofy not being able to hop for an hour straight like those little kids. I have the home version of DDR and the pad is okay except it’s not a solid platform like the ones in the arcade. So the first couple of days I played on the home version, I was constantly pushing the pad in all directions. It takes a bit of getting used to.

You can try looking for the dance pad on eBay. Make sure you check to see if it’s an imitation cuz I’m sure I’ve seen a couple circulating on eBay.

Okay, I know this is an old thread, but I simply had to share my complete and utter obsession with this game. My friends and I only got into it recently, but already it has taken over our lives! Not only is stepping on those arrows fun and addictive, but it also counts as exercise.

My favourites are:

Boom Boom Dollar
Butterfly
Dam Dariram
Bumblebee
Mr Wonderful
Make a Jam!
Light My Fire

Yesterday, I played for the first time in the arcade; I was quite proud of myself - solid, but not spectacular. And then a complete DDR freak got on after me! He danced to songs in Double Maniac mode while everybody stood there, mouths agape. Instead of the normal stomping noise, he was gliding across the board and literally did not make a sound.

Properly chastised, I slunk off into the night to play once again on the playstation version.

My friends and I have the unusual pastime of playing DDR and the nearest available shooting game (hopefully one with two players) simultaneously.
We’re not very good at it.

Gottcha beat!

I have a DDR hooked up to my computer! You can DL new songs from the 'net… Astrogirl LOVES it, and is pretty good. I have “Rupolph sa-sum cot-nun[sup]*[/sup]” mastered, but it is pretty slow…

*Rupolph sa-sum cot-nun Step…Step…

[sup]*[/sup]“Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer” in Korean.
