Thanks for the reminder of one of the biggest contradictions in liberal “thought”: many liberals believe I am selfish and greedy for wanting to keep what I’ve earned, but they don’t believe they are selfish or greedy for wanting the government to take it from me to spend on them or a program they support.

I know you think that everything you want the government to do is all sunshine and roses and would promote the betterment of humanity, but really it just comes down to who gets to decide what to do with a portion of my money (ie, me or you).
That’s not selfish though. It may be arrogant for me to assume I know better how to spend your (and my) money, but it isn’t selfish under any normal usage of the term.
And to be honest, it isn’t really that arrogant. It’s accurate though.
Well, it’s pretty clear that you’re too stupid to know what to do with your money, (I mean come on, gold plated golf clubs? $2000 chia pets?), so it is in your own best interests that others spend it for you. Sort of like if a mentally handicapped individual inherits a bunch of money, they have a Guardian who looks after the finances.
