I enjoyed all the dances except the hip hop. I was impressed that Bristol continues to improve. She is slowly becoming a performer. There’s no way that shy girl would have done those moves three months ago.
I still want to see Jennifer win. She is by far the best dancer left. Her performance skills are also very good. Maybe not as flashy as Kyle.
I wonder if Bristol will do the Dancing With the Stars Tour? A few months on the road performing would do her a lot of good. It would help her get over her shyness.
Thanks. It sounds like they’re going to re-do their best dance from the past so they don’t really have to learn a whole new thing. They’ll probably add a few new twists though.
The freestyles were all a bit problematic, IMO. Kyle’s hip-hop was great for what it was, but hip-hop for the freestyle is a big cliche and has nothing to do with ballroom. After some questionable choices earlier in the season, I thought Ballas selecting the Chicago number for Bristol’s freestyle was wildly ambitious, and I think she gets some credit for not completely sucking, even if she didn’t quite nail it. Regarding Jennifer, I guess it was inevitable that they were going to something from Dirty Dancing, but I preferred to see something different, and, as someone said, it seemed pretty obvious during much of the routine that they were trying to work around possibly overstressing her neck, and that kind of distracted one from the proceedings.
Nevertheless, for her season-long body of work, for me Jennifer should get the trophy. It’s not even close.
I’ve read some speculation that Jennifer and Joel might do some theater together. Chicago is an obvious choice.
That would be a once in a lifetime thing to see. (yes I’m a big Joel Grey fan).
But, given Jennifer’s constant injuries. I don’t see how they could pull it off. It’s ironic to say that she’s the one that can’t handle it. Especially, since her dad is almost 80. AFIK he still performs occasionally.
wow, that final cha cha cha was fantastic. Bristol totally stepped it up this week and looked very nice tonight. Bristol and Kyle both lost a little weight this season.
Well, the final vote is in a few minutes… I’m pretty sure who it will be. But, you never can tell.
I bet Patrick is looking down and smiling about not. Jennifer has been a fantasy pick for dwts ever since the show began. I didn’t think she’d ever do it. Trying to live up to a movie like Dirty Dancing is daunting. It’s one of the iconic dance movies of the past 30 years. Right up there with* All that Jazz* and Chicago. A lot of people wouldn’t have risked tarnishing the memory of a great performance by attempting a show like dwts. Let’s face it. Very few 50 year olds have succeeded on this show. Susan Lucci and Jane Seymour both had trouble keeping up.
Thank goodness Jennifer decided to go for it. I was worried the show had cost her votes with the constant “Jennifer is hurt” drumbeat. Great job Baby.

I was a little disappointed that they didn’t get Joel Grey to do a short number with Jennifer. Two more minutes of dancing wouldn’t kill her. They had gobs of time to fill. Especially since Audrina Patridge called in sick. But, I understand it was Jennifer’s moment and not his.
A simple father/daughter waltz would have been so sweet. Joel was beaming in the audience. It was sweet that he got to see his daughter shine and hoist that mirrorball trophy.
