"Dancing with the Stars IV" lineup announced
(And not to be crude, but I know she says she has great prosthetics for her missing leg…but are they good enough to do ballroom dancing on?!? Yikes!)
Larry the Cable guy says he took a girl with a peg leg dancing one time and when he spun her around, she got taller.

Trunk - As I recall (probably incorrectly) AAO was projected to win five or six gold at the Olympics, and although he won two, he didn’t do nearly as well as all the advance publicity would suggest. Yeah, I’m hard ot please. Actually, what displeases me is the hype that surrounds certain athletes, when I’d rather see them coming in with a relatively clean slate.

twicks - That’s the one.

StG

I think Heather Mills is only on so she can be the first one voted off. Oh sure the prosthetic leg might gain some sympathy but she’s been bad-mouthing Paul. I understand she is really hated in Britain, I don’t think she’s going to have too many more fans here in the U.S.

So, on the pro side we have:
She’s kinda pretty
She has one leg - big sympathy getter there
She does a lot of charity work

On the con side:
She bad-mouthed Paul McCartney
She bad mouthed Paul FREAKING McCartney!
She supports PETA

Yep, the cons defintely outweight the pros.

I’d rather watch Yoko dance.

He looks so much like my older brother that it’s startling. My mom always liked him on 90210 because of it. She loves Dancing with the Stars, and I know she will get a kick out of seeing Ian again.

That’s him.
Ohmigosh! When I saw Ian’s (pronounced EYE an , dontcha know) name on the OP’s list my first thought was “Aw, that’s the guy from 90210 that my mom liked so much and who looks like my older brother”. Sadly, she passed away but she would absolutely dig this show if she were here. Wait a minute, your mom didn’t have a crush on Clay Aiken did she?
Oh dear, I predict a lot of “one-legged ballroom dancer” jokes. Er, not from me, of course.
You mean like how the rest of the competition already has a leg up on her?

Yeah, I’m not going down that road either.

The only person on that list I recognize is Apollo Anton Ohno. I might not watch this season, sorry.
Paulina P. is also married to Ric Ocasek, and has been for 20 years or so. Will we see him in the audience, a la Harry Hamlin? Will she cha-cha to “Drive”?
I love that song, and The Cars in general.
Is that a leg?
Presumably dancing to such hits as Lean on Me and You Spin Me Round.
And doing the Bunny Hop.

I don’t know that it’s necessary to know who people are in advance to enjoy it – who the hell had heard of Drew Lachey?

Formerly Jessica Simpson’s brother-in-law, if I’m not much mistaken. Saw him on a Christmas special back when La Jessica’s marriage was still pretty enough for public viewing.

Are you like totally kidding me, or does EYE-an really look like your brother, too?!? That is so weird.

Yeah, but my point was that it’s not like he had a huge fan base – probably (significantly) more people had not heard of him than had heard of him at the beginning of the season – and yet he turned out to be one of the reasons Season II was so much fun to watch.

No kiddin’, Sarah! (sorry for the hijack, kids) The similarities in your post and my reality just kinda touched me. I hope your mom gets all kinds of joy from watching!

Or Come On Eileen.

:rimshot:
Well, I didn’t know most of them. But Ian Zeiring!

Is Joey Fatone the chunky one who was in My Big Fat Greek Wedding? Because I like that guy.
Yes he is and so do I…

I’ve seen rumors in a couple of places that Pastore has pulled out of the competition. No word on whether he will be replaced or by whom.

He did? What a great big pu…nah, too easy.

A local radio announcer was reading the list and when she got to Heather Mills there was ten seconds of dead air before she totally cracked up. “But she only has one leg.”

It’s been confirmed, though no word on a replacement yet. Master P might be available.

The linked article also mentions the special strap Heather Mills will use to secure her leg. (examines available smilies, is unable to choose one)
