I read in a philosophy book that one theory on why humans went from being polytheistic to monotheistic was so that they could claim superiority over other tribes by saying; “MY God is bigger, better and stronger than YOUR Gods!” , which culminated in; “MY God is the only one that exists, yours isn’t even REAL!”
Until we are ready to give up the cold, cruel, cavemanlike comfort of claiming a monopoly on God, stuff like this will happen, and anti-semitism* will never be erased. Never.
*FYI: The Arabs and the Jews are both semitic peoples, since “Semitic” is a language group, not a religious classification.
For the past century, anti-semitism has not been based on religion, you know.

Sadly, I doubt any country will be free of anti-Semitism in our lifetimes.
We have made some progress, though. During World War II, government policy was anti-Semitic (“One [Jewish refugee] is too many” – the words of Mackenzie King’s immigration minister). Now it’s been reduced to the lone psychos on the fringes.
