A very, very, very, very cute black and white border collie, about four months old. It was windy and snowing and she was crouched in the middle of the street. No collar, of course.
I can’t keep her because we have three dogs. Please think good “finding owner or new owner” thoughts for me. Puppy is in a big kennel in the basement while the other dogs do random “what are you doing in my house?!” barking at the door.
On the Ohio/PA border about 75 miles from Pittsburgh. Any help appreciated, I’m happy to deliver the puppy to a responsible person/organization within a day’s drive if I don’t find the owner.
Try Mid-Atlantic Border Collie Rescue - they may not be all that close, but my experience with breed rescue groups is that they will travel to make sure a dog has a safe haven.
I’m going to the vet tomorrow to have her scanned and check the lost announcements. I live in a rural area where people tend to have a lot of “backyard dogs” that they like but don’t necessarily take very good care of (as in, put collars with IDs on them, much less chip 'em).
