Dang it, still under 50 posts!

just wish I had registered earlier. ah well.

I just asked because a very close friend is teaching something there… I was Navy - don’t understand that Army stuff.

There - that padded a bit more, eh?

yep

how did you like the navy, btw? and how long were you in? Haven’t decided whether or not I’ll do the green-to-go program when my 6 years are up.

I did 11 years active, 3 reserve. Started as “E” and got out as “O”, and since '85 I’ve worked for the Navy as a civ. Had I not married, I likely would have stayed in till retirement. It was great for me - lots of opportunities to travel, meet all sorts of folks, and do things I would never have considered otherwise - like taking flying lessons. Should my daughter want to serve, I’d be thrilled for her.

Bah! Post count means nothing! It’s registration date that is important. I look at most of your registration dates, and what do I see? Aug 2000, or Jan 2000. Wussies. Been here since good ol’ 1999. That’s right, 1999. Fear me!

that’s awesome, fcm. out of curiousity, are the enlistee/officer ranks the same as in the army?

army:
enlistee:
private
private E2
private first class
specialist
corporal
seargent
and then all the different types of seargents that I can never get straight. I’ll just say NCO.

officer:
2nd liutenent
1st liutenent
(from here on I’m not sure if i got the order straight)
captain
liutenent major (is that a rank? I gotta get back to studying them)
major
Liutenant Colonel
Colonel
Liutenant General
(and I’m nhot sure about the other General ranks, but I’ll give it a try)
Brigidier General
something General
Master Genera(possibly?)

who ate all the pies?

teppei you are shameless!!

reluctant to admit she’s…

Done.

And now I feel the urge to make one… too bad none of you live near me

Nope:
seaman/airman recruit
seaman/airman apprentice
seaman/airman
petty officer third class
petty officer second class
petty officer first class
chief petty officer
senior chief petty officer
master chief petty officer

ensign
lieutenant junior grade
lieutenant
lieutanant commander
commander
captain
rear admiral (lower)
rear admiral (upper)
vice admiral
admiral
fleet admiral
I was a second class when I went over to the dark side, and I got out as a lieutenant

the moon

Teppei, think its:

Brigadier General
Major General
Lieutenant General
General
General of the Army.

Teppei

There is a saying to remember generals by

"Be My Little General"

Brigadier General (1 star)
Major General (2 star)
Lieutenant General (3 star)
General (4 star)

Teppei: The above is what is known as a 'hijack. Something the old hands do to mystify and demoralize us newbies.

Now then; I like impossible cocoanut cream pie. And I have a recipe around here somewhere. (vague scuffling noises)

[sub]umm… I’ll get back to you on that.[/sub]

Personally i think newfe sounds better, like maybe it’s french.

(another shameless post pad0

Bumbazine: why is the pie impossible?

Sweet Sue: never was good at catching subliminals. So, uh, winces what does it mean? I know I’m gonna feel like an idiot when I’m told.

You are NOT under 50 posts!
Be more accurate in the future please…

vanilla:looks at post count
