Dangly bits on Apache Chopper?

Just been watching an interesting documentary about the Apache helicopter.

On an extension arm from what appears to be the engine pod is mounted a dangly piece of equipment that seem to just wave about in the wind. There is one on each side.

I’m sure it is an important piece of equipment but watching it throughout the documentary I could not figure out what it might be used for.

Any ideas??
